Everything you need to know

Your questions answered

How do I get a quote?

Call us or fill in the contact form with details of the job. For simple work we can often quote from a description and photos; for larger jobs we arrange a visit first.

Is there a charge for quoting?

We do not charge to give you a quote. You are under no obligation to go ahead.

Will the price change once you start?

We agree the price before starting. If we uncover something that could not have been seen beforehand, such as rot behind a panel, we stop and explain the options before doing any extra work.

How far ahead do I need to book?

It depends on how busy we are and the size of the job. Small jobs can often be fitted in fairly quickly. We will give you an honest idea of timing when you call.

Do you bring materials?

We can supply standard materials, fixings and fittings. If you have chosen something specific, like a particular tap or light fitting, you can buy it and we will fit it. We will agree this when we quote.

Is it worth calling for one very small job?

Yes. Many customers save up a few small jobs for one visit, which makes good use of the time, but we are happy to help with a single job too.

Will you leave my home tidy?

We use dust sheets where needed, clear up as we go and take away waste from the job where practical. If a job will be messy, such as cutting or sanding, we will warn you beforehand.

Do you need parking?

It helps if we can park reasonably close, as we carry tools and materials. Let us know about any parking restrictions or permit zones when you book.

How do I pay?

We will confirm how payment works and the ways you can pay when we give you your quote, so there is no confusion on the day.

Which areas do you cover?

We are based in Ashington and cover the surrounding towns and villages, from Blyth and Bedlington to Amble, Warkworth and Felton. See our areas page.

Do you guarantee your work?

We stand behind what we do. If something we have fitted or repaired is not right, tell us and we will come back to look at it. We will explain what applies to your job when we quote.

Do you work for landlords and letting agents?

Yes. We carry out repairs and maintenance in rented homes, including jobs between tenancies. We just need access arranging and a contact on the day.

Do you do gas or major electrical work?

We never do gas work. We take on minor electrical jobs, and anything notifiable under Part P is carried out or signed off by a registered electrician.

Do I need to be home while you work?

Not always. Many customers are home for the start and end of the visit. If you need to leave us a key or arrange access, we can talk that through.

Got a job that needs doing?

Tell us what needs fixing, fitting or finishing and we'll get back to you with a clear, free quote.
